Baby Centres

One of the biggest tips I can offer when going to WDW with small children is to make use of the baby centres available. I can't stress enough how invaluable they are when trying to keep little ones cool, fed, changed and dry... basically from turning into the lovely little terrors they become if they are in the least bit uncomfortable! Anyone with small people in their lives know that their mood can change the whole dynamic of a day out as we've discovered on many occasion. There is one located in each theme park and they are fully equip with everything you could need. They ask you to leave the pram outside in a designated stroller park so make sure you have your rain cover with you as not all of them provide full cover and as you all likely know, the weather can change so quickly there. We went into the AK baby centre in gorgeous sunshine and came out in a downpour. Luckily I always covered the pram but there were others that were soaked through. We ended up pulling complete strangers prams into covered areas as no baby/toddler wants to sit in a soaking seat for the rest of the day and little ones can be heavy to carry around until their seat is dry again. We used the baby centres a lot when we visited the parks for everything from changing nappies and feeding to just taking a break and hiding from the heat (air con 😍😍). My little ones were 8 months old and 4 year old when we went and we found it could be a long day so always factored regular stops in our plans for the day. The facilities for changing are also so much better and a lot easier than trying to take both kiddos and a pram into the public restrooms which don't offer changing mats so unless you bring your own you're stuck changing baby on a hard, cold surface. We used a small foldaway changing mat which was part of my changing bag on the few occasions a trip to one of the restrooms for baby changing was needed. In the centres they show Disney films and provide books for toddlers and older children and they have little chairs and tables so even Emily was able to make use of her time in them. As much as she loved the hustle and bustle of Disney she did enjoy our rest time. The cast members in all of the centres we visited are amazing as we come to expect at Disney. They are so kind and helpful and were always more than happy to help if needed. We found them to be very knowledgeable in all things baby. The below information was taken from the WDW site with details of what can be found in the centres. We loved that there was a microwave for heating Matthew's food .Open during regular park hours, each full-service facility is complimentary to use and includes a:
Private nursing room with rocking chairs
Changing room with tables and a unisex bathroom
Feeding area with highchairs
Kitchen with microwave, oven and sink
Main room with television, table, chairs and sofa
On-site shop offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications and clothing for purchase
I do recommend taking your own nappies and baby food if possible as I found the vitals to be quite expensive in the centres. It's great to know they are available in case of emergencies though. We stayed onsite with no car and the day before we were due to fly home we unfortunately ran out of baby food. We were able to pick up a few from MK which give us enough to get home 🤗All in all these centres are an amazing addition to the parks and show that Disney are catering for people with children all ages.
