A few weeks ago we had the chance to visit the new Primark that opened in Birmingham. We managed to get lost in the shop for over 2.5 hours due to the sheer amount of areas to visit!

Whilst we were there we thought it was only right to go for lunch in the new Disney Café which can be found on the top floor.

Visually, the café is amazing. My first impression was American diner with a mixture of booths and tables.

Bright, bold colours, neon signs, giant posters and Minnie and Mickey silhouettes above all of the booths really added to the Disney feel.

The entrances to the café are giant mickey heads which look pretty amazing! They have you standing in line wondering which wall in your house you could possibly knock down in order to fit one in!

As we visited on a Saturday, the wait time to get into the café was about 20 minutes which isn't ideal but it's not a very large café and so we had to wait for someone else to finish up and leave before we could be seated. Fortunately the ladies who were working the queue were lovely and chatty and as soon as a table became free they arranged for it to be cleaned as quick as possible and showed us to our seats.

To the left as you walk thought the entrance there are units where you can store your baskets so there's no need to hurry off to pay for your bargains before going for lunch. You can lunch mid shop (like we did) and then continue wandering around Primark.

We were seated in one of the booths which are just in front of the entrance. Some of the booths have interactive games in the table top which is a great idea for keeping the kids entertained whilst you chose and order your meals from the service tills.

There was only one till working whilst we were there and so the food ordering queue was slower than we would have liked but it gave us time to decide on what we wanted to eat and then change our minds a few times when being presented with gorgeous slices of cakes in little glass domes.

Our food was then delivered straight to our table.

Being so close to the queue made eating a little uncomfortable as it felt a little like we were being hurried along by people waiting to be seated and by the staff who were cleaning tables. My plate was literally whipped out from in front of me just as I'd picked up my last piece of food! It's great that they are being so on the ball when it comes to cleaning but I hadn't even put the food into my mouth before my cutlery was being cleared away.

Hopefully this will calm down a bit when the café isn't as new and exciting to visit.

The menu isn't huge but the food we had was reeeeeally nice and I didn't want it to end. There was a child's menu and then a couple of things for adults but they let us to swap a few items around from the kids menu.

I chose the adult ham and cheese panini and swapped the chips for sweet potato chips from the kids menu (in an attempt to be good for Slimming World which was then completely ruined later in the meal!)

I was expecting the portions to be quite small AND I needed to eat something Mickey shaped (it seemed like a must!) so I ordered Mickey waffles for desert haha. They weren't as nice as the Mickey waffles in Disney but they were a good substitute until I can get back to the parks. They came with some fruit and a sauce on the side.

There was also Mickey shaped pancakes and fruit skewers on the menu but the skewers were sold out when I asked before choosing waffles.

The portion size for the main was a pretty good size so I was very well fed and my whole meal - drink included - cost me about £8. (Sorry I cant remember exactly)

As it was a birthday trip a couple of my lovely friends ordered a piece each of the rainbow cake. It was so tasty but omg it was sweet. I ended up helping one of them eat theirs (I just can't see cake wasted! sorry diet! ) but the birthday girl managed to eat all of hers! I don't know how she did it or where she put it as it was such a large piece! haha

I definitely recommend sharing if your tooth isn't as sweet.

We went back to the store on Sunday morning to grab a few last minute bits before traveling home and I couldn't help but have a quick peek into the café whilst there was no queue as I wanted to see it when it was so much calmer.

I would definitely recommend visiting early in the morning if you prefer it to be quieter. If I had had the kids with me I don't think I could have faced the queues and waiting around so I would definitely take them at a quieter time.

You've probably seen hundreds of photos posted all over Instagram of the new must visit Disney walls. They are even more amazing in real life I must say! They are perfect for pretending you're in a Disney park posing in front of one of their themed walls even if just for a few minutes.

I love that Primark / Disney have thought to add the giant neon Minnie and Mickey wall and I'm glad that they chose to sectioned off away from the café so you can reach it without having people walking past to get to their tables.

It makes taking goofy photos so much easier.

All in all I think it is a great café to visit if you're planning a day of shopping in Birmingham. I likely wouldn't drive the 2.5hours specifically to visit but if I'm in Birmingham I would definitely visit again! The food was cheap and tasted lovely and you can't help but sing along to the Disney songs playing whilst enjoying some Mickey shaped waffles.

Have you visited? What did you think? What did you enjoy/dislike? I'd love to find out other peoples opinions.
