If someone had of told me a few weeks ago that you could be sent cake in the post I would never have believed them but today I was completely blown away by the amazing gift we were sent from Adam and the team at bakerdays for our 10 year Wedding Anniversary.

The 5" cake arrived so well packed and completely safe and it really did fit through the letterbox!

The cake is amazing! I was asked to chose the flavour of cake I would like and the design for the top of the cake or the occasion it would be for. I just had to choose Mickey and Minnie for the top of this cake and with it being our anniversary I asked for the words "Celebrating 10 Magical Years" to go underneath the image.

The team at bakerdays beautifully added a white lace effect heart around the image and text and chose the colour of the cake which I think looks very pretty.

I think the packaging was very clever. The cake itself was sent inside a beautiful tin (which I will definitely be keeping and using to store a few of my trinkets!).

The tin was inside a small parcel box along with a bag of air to keep it still whilst it was in transit. They also included one of their own lovely little cards with the bakerdays logo on balloons and the word "Enjoy!" written inside. I thought this was a very sweet touch, especially if one of these cakes were ordered as a surprise gift for a friend or family member. They could be posted directly to the receiver which I think would be an amazing surprise. Who doesn't like cake and you definately wouldnt expect one to just land on your doormat!! haha

Inside the tin, there was 4 small pieces of foam to stop the cake moving around in the tin and a small sheet of tracing paper on top of the cake to keep it from being marked by the tin.

I love that they add a tag to the bottom of the tin with "pull here" written on it to help make life a little easier when taking the cake out of the tin. I won't lie I still struggled with this but i think that was more to do with my fat fingers than the design. I had to turn the cake gently upside down to get it out but I'd rather take a bit longer getting the cake out than have it rattling around in the postman's trolley only to have it arrive all squished.

I chose chocolate as my flavour as Jon can be very picky and he's not a big fan of trying anything new. He said it was delicious. It was a chocolate sponge with chocolate icing and both he and Miss Em agreed it was so tasty.

It was really soft like it had just been baked there and then.

I've made sure to keep me and mum a slice to have with a cup of tea after weigh in tomorrow! haha.

I definitely recommend checking out

Thank you so much bakerdays for sending us such a lovely gift. My cup of tea will be even more lovely with a slice.
